October Crown BUS on site
For those that are thinking about not going to October Crown because of parking issues. You might want to think again.

A bus has been rented, yes rented a bus and driver for Friday 4pm to 10pm, Saturday 7am-9am, Saturday 7pm to 9pm , and again on Sunday 12pm to 4pm

You can unload and drive up to the parking lot park and then ride back down in comfort and the other way around too. Of course it will need to be during the times the bus is running.

Oh and there is pull in parking in the general camping area. Titus correct me if I am wrong, but only the nice green area in and around the eric will have limited driving. There is a paved path that goes around that people can unload (QUICKLY - like hopefully less than 30 minutes). There will be a rope and signs that say do not drive and/or park here. These are absolutes and we cannot drive and/or park per the contact with the park or we could loose the park for future events or worse, we could be asked to leave immediately.

Also, new this time is battery operated lights in the privies - please, please, please, please, please don't take them and don't let the children take them to play with. Honestly I am sure all would like to see what they are walking into and what they are doing at night when it is dark.

Don't forget the memorial for Sir Theodrick on Saturday evening after court.

Lastly, The Eric reservation system has been greatly received and many, many, many people signed up for it. I think the evening feastivities (yes I said feast because there will be so much food) will be loads of fun. With the the booze fairies and such.

There will be A&S stuff, Rapier stuff, Archery stuff, Youth stuff, Fighting stuff, food stuff, party stuff, and did I mention stuff

Oh, lastly but certainly not the least... remember if you are using a cart, there is a time limit for use of them. You can use it for 30 minutes to haul to and from your campsite. BUT NOT TO TEAR DOWN YOUR CAMP AND PACK INTO THE CART. If this is done the cart will be taken away from the person doing it. Many many times people have seem a few that grab the cart and then take down their tent and such and pack it into the cart.
Oh and there is a check in and out list for the carts.... again too many time the cart gets past from friend to friend to friend and others don't get to use them.... So you will need to stop by either gate or autocrat camp (still not sure the best place for this will be) to check out a cart.

I am sure there is lots more stuff but that's it for me now

Wow, Hard to believe my little one is 25 today
Really makes me feel old.
I am starting to think about my 50th b'day celebration Dec 2010. I want to go somewhere and have lots of fun. My older sis celebrated at the New Years eve at Time Square on hers. I am sure mine will not be as spectacular. Hmmm maybe Vegas since it is Dec I am wondering what the weather would be like.

Wow 4 days off
It has been a very long time since I had 4 days off and stayed home. I am been working around the house. Working in the kitchen, rearranging some things, moving other things, then there is the stuff I have just trashed because, well it should have been done a long time ago.
We moved the piano to make room for the Christmas Tree today. Thursday and Friday GS has put the shelving units up in the family room that he has been working on for AWHILE. The shelves and doors are not completed yet but we can use them as is for now. He said he would work on a batch of shelves at a time and switch them out with the unfinished shelves.
Oh and I still need to put the Christmas lights on the house. Good thing we have those tea cup hooks permanently installed, as it makes for a quick job.
Kid 1 is trying is best at getting out of going with his friend to the friends brother-in-laws place past Sacramento. Kid 2 is going to something that was supposed to start at 2pm but something happened and it has been delayed so she is helping me put the Christmas tree together. True a real tree would be nicer but I have 2 8ft really nice looking fake trees that I should use. I will probably put up on one of them this year as GS has his staining project in the living room (thankfully not in the kitchen this time). I just heard the monster machine going upstairs so GS must be working on a new piece of armor. He is wearing a different rig and this rig requires him to sew things into place.
Oh well, enough of the break time it is time to get back to work.

Investiture Feast - Learning Lessons
I am looking for negative and positive feedback from the feast from Investiture.
My theory is that I will not learn unless I hear what went bad and good. So constructive criticism is gladly accepted. If you want to send it privately to me that is ok as well.

Quick Guide to Business Formulas

Firms typically go though life cycles, during part of which their growth is faster than that of the economy and during part of which their rate of growth falls sharply.

Sadly I have too many business books and not enough fun reading books around me.

crown
Still unsure of my thoughts on the final round of Crown, I am still trying to sort it out.
One thing I do want to say at this point is that Finals is not just about the two fighters and two consorts. Instead it is about all the fighters that entered the Crown list to win the Crown, the consorts of these fighters and the entire West Kingdom.

Pennsic - yeah - yikes
I leave for Pennsic Wednesday night - yeah I am so glad to be going and taking time off work
yikes, I have to get everything sewed and packed
I have have been so sick I haven't got things done, my sewing is behind and I haven't packed and I am sure there are other things that are not done as well. I think it is bronchitis but I haven't had time to see the dr to really get it a diagnosis but good things is that I am getting much better, I only have a few coughing fits that sound like my lung will plop out at anytime.
I talked to GS almost every night since he got to Pennsic and he has been working a lot at setting up pavilions and such for the West Camp. Hmmm we (the west camp) need to think how to make it not so hard for those that do the land grab. It's nice to go and have pavilions up but that means only a couple of people actually put them up. oh and I noticed this year most everyone is leaving early yuk that means lots of work for GS, CW, T, F&J, and me to do :-( -- I really need to think about how to make the work load even for everyone attending Pennsic. hmmmm I already have thoughts of work points or schedule hmmmm

Vegas here we come :-)
June 12th is just around the corning and in other ways it is so far away. We will be leaving for Vegas then, well not all of us GS is staying home. Today I decided that even though I have a comp suite at the Venetian I should get a room at the other end of the strip at the Excalibur, well I had another email saying I am eligible for comp rooms. Vegas so doesn't make its money on hotel rooms, since I get so many offers for free rooms. Always nice to have freebies and the comp rooms always come with something free.
On to the planning. I already have the tickets for several shows, Blueman, Elton John, Phantom of the Opera, and Dirk Arthurs Magic Show. My sister will be coming in Thursday later in the afternoon. Car is already to go, Chrissy is filling up her IPOD with comedy and such. Doug is bringing some entertainment as well. All that is left to do is pack.
hmmm need to find the good places to eat.
I have several places I am thinking about going to: Ethel M factory tour marshmallow factory, cranberry factory tours again, Fremont Street downtown (I have heard they have very loose slots and pay out more), Rainbow Feather Company, Ethel's Chocolate Lounge, and that special store at W. Tropicana Ave.

home now
surgery to remove the bone spur on my shoulder was successful. There was no tear to the muscle, so hopefully recover quickly. I stayed at Kaiser overnight, and came home this morning.
doing one handed typing, haven't had to take any pain meds yet, pain is bearable (3to4 on scale of ten)
I have a low threshold to the drugs so it took awhile for the muscle block to wear off. And I have a high tolerance to pain at least that is what the dr says.
Doug and Chrissy are home with me and Scott went to work

YIPEEE I passed
Just got my grade from my last class -- 86.6 yippee I passed. I'm officially done. WooHoo
For awhile I thought I wouldn't finish my MBA but I am done.

Nice to have that out of the way before surgery on Wednesday.

This weekend I had to go into work on Saturday because I will be out for the next several week. Today worked in the yard to tackle that damn ivy again. At least the neighbors gardener is killing it on their side, guess they kind of had to since it was pulled a lot of the fence down and now it has to be completely replaced. In order to keep some of my roses from being killed by the ivy killer stuff we had to dig up three of them and move them temporarily. Well not really we but more Doug. I just pointed and said dig here move there.

On the 12th the kids are going with me to Vegas for re-cooperation from the surgery. The Dr and the PT are cool with it. They say it is better because they know I will not try overuse it there. And I will have my sister there, she is an RN and will make sure I take care or myself.

It was odd this weekend, sort of like going through withdrawals. No HomeWork, yikes.

off to watch Hulk with GS.

Beltane was nice
I only day tripped to Beltane but it was nice. The weather was good and the day nice.
Had to leave because of my shoulder pain, darn it. Well that and homework. I only have 22 days left of school and I am working hard to finish up my final HUGE paper. I think it is going to way a ton.
I look forward to having free time again. I plan to start working on the camp kitchen table transformer thingy that I have had in my head for quite some time. And the new kitchen pavilion, and they new sunshade/pavilion, and help Chrissy with her pavilion, and make a new pavilion to replace the old purple and gold big one (it should be purple but it is more gray than purple) I am research a treatment for the new one to prevent fading. Well at least when I am busy after school I am doing the stuff I find fun :-)

Day before Christmas Eve....
Well it is the day before Christmas Eve and I am still doing homework. But good thing is I get two weeks of from school :-) Bad thing is that it is year end at work and that will probably take up most of my time.
I have several projects to finish in the next two weeks. a cotehardie each for Chrissy and GS, some hosen (not sure how to but I guess I will have to figure that out), a coif for GS and I the gambeson I promised GS back in October. He has a nice one from Ysa but the way he goes through them he will need another.
Well, I have to finish up my paper then get started on the cooking, cleaning, sewing, etc sigh....

I have been so busy with school, work, school I haven't had much time for friends :-(
Just 5 more months then I will be done with my MBA.
My diet is still going ok. I have lost 90lbs so far. I am still losing but it is slower during these holiday and colder months. I have started going to Bally's in the morning before work. Man I love the sauna in the winter :-)
